Ritchie's Colombian Restaurant
About This Spot
Tucked away on a lively stretch of Baltimore Avenue in College Park, Ritchie’s Colombian Restaurant offers an inviting pause from the busy college-town rhythm. The moment you step inside, there’s a comforting sense of familiarity—like arriving at a friend’s home where genuine warmth and attentive service quietly set the tone for a relaxed meal. The space carries a casual charm, unpretentious yet full of life, where the hum of conversation blends with the inviting aromas drifting from the kitchen.
Here, mealtime feels unhurried but purposeful, a chance to explore Colombia’s rich culinary tapestry through generous, thoughtfully crafted plates. The dishes arrive as colorful, hearty feasts—each bite revealing layers of history and homestyle care rather than just ingredients. The portions encourage sharing or saving, making it as much a celebration of abundance as it is of flavor. Whether it’s the satisfying crunch of fried pork skin or the delicate balance of richly spiced stews, the food invites you into moments of simple joy and unexpected discovery.
Behind the counter, the easygoing friendliness of the staff—often including the owner—adds a personal touch that makes this more than just a meal. Their willingness to guide you through the menu or offer a little extra kindness speaks to the place’s deep connection to its community and the stories woven into every dish.
For those curious to dive into authentic Colombian comfort food beyond the usual, Ritchie’s quietly shines as a neighborhood gem. It’s not just about what’s on the plate, but the feeling of warmth and welcome that lingers long after the last bite.

I am very picky with food when it comes to flavor, quality and overall value. This place was a huge surprise. The service was quick, the food was delicious, portions were very generous. Took plenty of leftovers home. Definitely will be back, definitely would recommend this hidden gem.

The food was delicious! I was impressed about the amount of food and how big the plates were. I hope to come back one day.

Walked in having never tried Colombian food and was greeted by a friendly guy (could be the owner) at the counter. I asked what to get and he recommended the Bandeja Paisa. You get a nearly overwhelming amount of delicious food for $24, easily at the top of my list for quality value food in the area. Followed it up with a solid coffee flan.

The staff (possibly the owner) was very friendly. I saw the pandebono while waiting for my takeout, and wanted one. It is only $1.5 but they only take cards for $5 above, so he said I could just pay it next time! The Bandeja Paisa had a lot on the plate for the price, and I enjoyed the fried pork skin! Pandebono was also tasty. Highly recommend the fried trout. It is crispy inside out. The milkshake compliments the food well.
